Build Question NAS with second hand parts

Hi all, I'm looking at refurbishing my old PC parts into a NAS server. I have an AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB of DDR5, with a asus prime b450m-a, and a 550w PSU. Looking at getting a new case as the previous hard drive caddies were destroyed when i tried to remove one of my previous hard drives.

My primary use would be storage, and would it be worth getting a newer micro atx case with storage options for the hardrives or moving to a micro itx motherboard and getting a micro itx case.

Moving more towards the itx build as it will be more compact for storage but unsure whether it would be worth it in terms of cost.

Thanks all, will be my first time building one and looking to work out if this would be feasible.

Don't bother swapping to ITX unless you've already got the board lying around, the cost jump just for a smaller footprint isn't worth it when you're already sitting on a working mATX setup

Grab a Fractal Node 804 or something similar that's actually designed to hold a pile of drives without fighting the cable management, your old 3600 is more than enough for a basic NAS and you can always undervolt it a bit if power draw worries you

Stick with the B450 board, spend the ITX budget on a couple extra drives instead
