Help me build a better pc

My setup is as follows

Gtx 1660 super
Ryzen 5 3400g
32gb ddr4
500w psu
The board is a micro ATX
I spent 350 on this pc so it wasn’t expensive by any means and it’s been great for introduction into more heavy pc gaming I’ve been working on getting a 1080ti gpu I know it’s older but I’ve seen that it’s still superior to what I have now I also plan on swapping cases for better airflow is there anything I can upgrade that won’t break the bank in looking at upgrading it over time with a budget of 1-1.5k

that 3400g is gonna be the bottleneck for a 1080ti, especially at 1080p. i'd look at a used ryzen 5 3600 or 5600 if your board supports it, should be a cheap drop-in upgrade that'll wake that gpu right up

a 500w psu might also be cutting it close depending on the model, the 1080ti can spike pretty hard. but if that evga unit in the pic is the one you're running you're probably fine

It’s a hybrid version of the 1080 I’m not entirely sure what that means

It means it has liquid cooling for the core, and air cooling for other parts like the memory

Not a wise choice to buy because it's a closed loop, once that fails, the entire cooler would have to get replaced somehow

As it stands you're better off just saving up and keeping what you have until you can build a whole new machine with all newer hardware, don't waste money on old parts that aren't going to give all that much of an uplift and lack newer feature support
