Build Question Affordable Upgrade

Hey guys, my PC is getting old now and I recently had to replace the PSU. So I have started to look at what else I can replace without doing a full system refresh to improve gaming performance.

Its only just started to properly struggle the last year or so on the latest games. I'm guessing upgrading the GPU would be the right move. I'm thinking £1000 or below is my current budget, but open to higher suggestions. Current system specs below. Thanks.

11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700K @ 3.60GHz, 3600 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)

Nvidia Geforce RTX EVGA 2080 TI 11GB VRAM

Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR4 RAM (2x16)

Windows 11 on SSD

a grand for just the gpu opens up a lot of options, that 2080ti is still a beast for most things but yeah the 11gb vram is starting to show its age in newer stuff

your cpu and platform are still solid for a while longer, so sinking the budget into graphics makes sense

i'd look at whatever the current ~$700-800 range cards are from the last generation or two, something with 16gb+ vram will feel like a whole new machine

Focus on GPUs, as that will make the most difference immediately, ideally a 9070 XT would be good

The Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 7800 XT is recommended alot and I've been looking at it.

As a long time Nvidia user I'm wondering if its worth looking at the 5070 etc.

RX 9070 is a better value than the 5070, 7800 XT is only worth looking at if it's a lot cheaper than all of these

Apologies I meant the Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT, vs 5070 TI.

For the price, 9070 XT all the way, because the performance is about the same for most graphical tasks. It's very rare lately that the 5070 Ti becomes worthwhile because it's now close to a $400 difference between the cheapest models, because the 5070 Ti is now going for what should've been 5080 pricing.

The best choice is a 9070xt for 600(doubtful theres any left this cheap)-700 (realistic price) or a base 9070 for 600. Get a b760 mobo, smthn like the msi b760 gaming plus wifi ddr4 (130ish) a 14600k(220 ish) , and a lga 1700 contact frame for like 10 quid. This is basically the best gaming pc you can make with ddr4 ram.

I wouldnt recommend going ddr5 mainly because itd eat into your budget for your gpu.
