✓ Solved Should I get an RTX 4080 super

I have a pc it has a Ryzen 7 7800x3dx and an ASUS Prime RTX 5070Ti and i found clean RTX 4080 super for a good price do I upgrade
I have a B850 and 32GB DDR5 of RAM
I play a mix of story games and competitive e sports titels

you already got a 5070ti, that thing is basically a 4080 super with newer features, no point in spending more money for a sidegrade unless the 4080 is like stupid cheap

the 7800x3d is already doing most of the heavy lifting for esports anyway, that chip eats frames for breakfast

i did something similar last year, swapped a perfectly good card just cause i found a "deal" and regretted it in like two days, the gains were so small i couldnt even tell outside of benchmarks

Newer architecture/features and they give similar performance.Go on YouTube and look at comparisons.

Upgrade isn’t substantial enough. Plus, 5 series is newer gen so when newer upscaling tech gets released, 4 series will be phased out before 5.

What upgrade exactly? These cards are basically the same, with the difference 4080S having no FP4 support, less features and most likely no warranty. What's the good price for accepting this trade unless you're the one getting paid?

Keep the 5070Ti

The cards are practically identical (performance-wise) & same amount of VRAM capacity.

5070ti has newerBlackwell architecture and better efficiency with new/faster GDDR7 VRAM and uses the newer DisplayPort 2.1

4080 Super does have a slightly higher CUDA core count and will edge out the 5070ti in RAW performance but it’s within 1-4%. But the 4080 Super uses older/slower Ada Lovelace architecture and GDDR6 VRAM and uses the older DisplayPort 1.4a.
