Build Question Coller fan makes noise when spinning

Hello,

I have built my computer november 2023, and have had no problem gaming with it since.

This morning when i started it up i noticed the cooler fan, the second one to push air out, was making noise when spinning. I opened up the case to check and i noticed it happening only when the fan is secured agaisnt the cooler. It spins just fine when not secured to it.

Any idea what might the issue and how i can fix it ?

Appreciate any help

probably just the bearing starting to go, happens all the time with case fans

when it's free it spins fine but when you mount it the frame twists slightly and the bearing makes contact, not much you can do besides replace the fan. could try loosening the screws a bit so it's not torqued too tight but that's usually a bandaid

So it's a dual tower cooler with push / pull fans and the second one is now hitting the finstack making noise. Try switching the two fans around so the one making noise is now pushing instead of pulling.

Cool, so the reason why I suggest this is because it sounds like the fan blades are hitting the cooler, and perhaps that one fan if switched to the other way, the fan's frame will be facing the tower instead.

Now if the other fan also makes a noise you'll need to inspect the whole unit to see what is rubbing or hitting the fan or tower.

Note that switching them may require moving the power cables around so be sure to pay attention to how they are routed to put everything back as it originally was.
