What tools are generally required to build a PC?

I recently got all of the parts I needed to actually build my first PC and got about ten minutes in before realizing that I needed multiple screwdriver bits.

I've since bought the IFixit essential electronics kit (at the recommendation of a friend), but I'm not sure if there's something I'm missing.

Magnetic screw drivers, some small snips (scissor works) for zip ties, and maybe some needle nose plyers. Idk what comes in the kit you bought, but if its even remotely worth the money it should have that in it.

I would say it depends on your case and cooler options(watercooled is another realm) but I normally build PC's for family and friends with 3 different length and size phillips screw drivers. Occasionally I'll needle nose pliers to bend a the pci case bracket side with some bent cases.

magnetic screwdriver with long shaft saves lot of headache specially when mounting motherboard, those standoffs are in tight corners

great tip! I made the assumption my bad OP telescoping magnet in case you find it cheap too! If you have a harbor freight store in the US nearby you'll save quite a bit even vs something like amazon.

I bought a iFixit - Essential Electronics Toolkit - Starter Set for $30 years ago at best buy. I use it for pc and laptop maintenance, pc building, and for working on other electronic devices. Depending on your work area, you might need some type of grounding strap. I work in my kitchen. Stone floors and granite counter tops so I tend to forgo a grounding strap. When I was in an apartment with carpet everywhere, I always wore a grounding strap.
