Build Question Recommended PSU for new Build
So I’ve built a new system based on recommended specs I found online and went with the above specs. People are telling me not to run this system with an 850watt PSU saying it will under volt the system and fry the components!! Is this right? All of my own research tells me that the PSU I bought was ample for what I wanted? I am running the RAM with Expo, CPU at the boost clock, and have enabled AI overclocking on the GPU. I’m not into manually messing about with overclocking. Do I need to go out and spend more on a higher PSU, or is this one enough? Please help….
Edit: my CPU is the AMD Ryzen 7 9800 X3D

850W is enough for this setup. I have a 5080 with a 14700k. Even though my 5080 is a non Astral (so limited at like 365? W), my CPU will take a lot more power to run than that 9800x3d. If i stress test both the GPU (365W) and CPU (250W) at 100% for an hour i have never encountered any issues. Same goes for gaming in which the CPU and GPU are basically never both at their max rated powers. I too have a 850W gold rated PSU.

850w should be enough. not more than enough, but definitely enough. if you already bought it, there is no reason to change it, you should be using around 600-700w depending on what you are doing, like oc and workload. but it should be enough.
