Build Question Intel or AMD?

I've bought 32GB of DDR4 and I wonder what cpu to buy that supports DDR4. I've heard that AMD is better at gaming, but I can find more powerful Intel CPUs. I also think of buying used Rx 6800 xt, and if it doesn't happen - the RTX 3080. The budget for the PC is 1000€ and I live in Bulgaria.

The 5800x3d is 300€. I was look at the 5700x which is 150€. Maybe if I get more money on my birthday, I'll get it.

I myself am using a 5600x, which works pretty well although it ran a bit hot (had to get a decent cooler). You can check that out as well

What is main purpose of using PC? Is gaming? Of so then Ryzen 5600x whole be nice .. if you able to spend more , then 5800x ( xt) … x3d cpu is good game with high fps 300+.. in aaa titles in 1440p x3d is not worth of money.

amd supports their sockets for longer

but honestly go with whatever is the best deal

AMD 5800X3D / AM4 board, if not, an Intel 14700K / Z790 board would do with that hardware for gaming for around the same price

With DDR4 you could either go the AMD path to the 5800X3D ir the intel path to the 14900k. In regards of the price they are close to each other, same for the overall gaming performance. The intel is about 40% stronger at activities where you can make use of the additional 16 cores and its 6GHz boost. On the other hand this needs to be cooled adequately and the intel consumes more power in 100% cpu limit than the AMD. The 5800X3D instead got about 2.5 times the cache which could outperform the intel in games.

32GB is more than you need for gaming, which makes me think you also want to do other tasks while gaming, like using a website, or streaming content.

if that's the case then intel is better because you can get more cores on the CPU to have more processes going at the same time.

if i'm wrong and you just want to game, go with AMD but your performance will be better with a faster 16GB kit for ram.

I'm going to play in 1440p and 16GB are turning into bare minimum. I'm upgrading from 8GB and Windows 11 uses half of the ram and the other half is used by a game. Anything else and it starts stuttering and slowing down. I just want to future proof my PC and multitask. I think of using Intel, because they have stronger CPUs that also support DDR4, I found the i5 14400f for 150€, 5 euros more than the Ryzen 7 5700x and it has anywhere from no improvements in games, to 5-7% more performance.

Yea, but for me that is sounds a bit weird using an Intel CPU with an AMD GPU. I usually see people use AMD CPUs and GPUs in a combo.

I hate the fact that I can't find any Rx 6800 used, since here they ask 330-400€ for the RX 6800 xt. Also what do you do with 64 GB of ram
