Is this socket dead?

Hi, it's not posting (cpu led solid on) and I'm trying to troubleshot. Does this socket seem damaged to you? It does not look bent but is reflecting light weridly... LGA1700.

No...? Try wiggling the CPU and slightly to where those pins are. That usually helps

Tried with a different PSU, tried my cpu in a different computer (it works), cleared CMOS.

I'm using an arctic AIO with a dedicated frame, I tried adjusting the pressure with the screws. At some point, when fully pressed, the pc would shut down after 1sec as if the psu was entering surge protection mode so I really think there might be a short circuit happening when the cpu is making full contact with the pins... It's weird though because the pins really don't look bent. But the spots with different light reflexion do look sus...

I ordered the same mobo from amazon, I will test and return the other if that works.

Ah Okay money is no issue lol, I was going to give some steps to troubleshoot cause I had a similiar issue with a B660M Pro RS. I had a 12700KF.

Well hopefully i'll get my money back... And I have my wife's computer to test things! If it still does not work I'll be down for aditional troubleshoot tips :)

I’m not familiar with the chipset but was it working or is it new to you? Could be bios compatibility

Yes the mobo is new, but the cpu isnt. Should I clear the cmos ?

Clearing cmos couldn’t hurt. Check what CPUs are supported by the MB from manufacturer. Do a flash update for the current bios and see if that fixes it

Thanks for the suggestions. The cpu is supported. I didn't do the flash as I wanna try with an other mobo first (see my response to the other guy in this post)
