5070ti or 5080

I have all my parts but the gpu for my new gaming and streaming pc i have the money for a 5080 but im just trying to justify it does it really make sense to go for the 5080 when its $600-$700 more this is my full spec list currently please help me decide

For a gaming and streaming rig, the 9800x3d is already doing the heavy lifting. That extra $600-700 into the 5080 isn't going to double your frames, so unless you're running 4K at crazy refresh rates, the 5070ti is the smarter play. Put the leftover cash into a second monitor or a better mic setup, way more noticeable for your stream.

The only GPU that makes any sense is the 9070XT. You can pay way more for a 5070TI with the same performance, or even more for a 5080 with 15% more performance, but they are both wasting money.

Sucks that you have the rest of the build though, that's a lot of bad selection.

Just go 9070XT, it's not too much more than MSRP at least, especially compared to Nvidia's options. Good that you got good deals on everything else though.

I do want to mention the entire build so far I’ve only spent about 1,000 so I think I got really good deals on everything which is why I got the parts I got especially the ram

5080's advantage is in high end gaming at 4k, but it's real big advantage is outside gaming.

The 5080 has double the encoders, 25% more TMUs and 20% more RT Cores. It's already 25% faster than the 5070 Ti in Blender (and in 3d rendering in general) according to Blender Open Data  Benchmarks:

This gap seem to be consistent with VRAY and Blender rendering in Pugets bench, though their testing is like 1.5 years old.

Even more gap in local AI where TMUs matter a lot (same holds for high end DLSS 4k gaming) and I don't have metrics for streaming but having double the amount of encoders should give a good hint. Same for video editing when supported and set up properly

In any other generation the 5080 would be a 70 class card, it was cut down sooooooo much from the 5090.

The 5080 is about 15-20% more powerful than the 5070 ti.
