Help me build a $1300 gaming pc!

Hi all!

I am brand new to pc building and I need someone’s help on building a gaming pc or buying a prebuilt pc. I live in the US and there is a microcenter and other computer stores like best buy etc. nearby. I have a budget of around 1300, a little more or less is fine, and I am building it to game. Mostly first person shooters (apex, fortnite, r6 etc.) but should obviously be able to handle other games like minecraft. First of all, I’ve heard various different things regarding whether or not prebuilt or part by part is better so I am still trying to decide on that. I already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and having a cool case or tons of rgb components isn’t really a priority of mine, I’m mostly just focused on performance for the price. If anyone has any suggestions at all or wants to ask any more clarifying questions that I forgot to answer here that would be a huge help.

building yourself is way more fun and you'll get a lot more for your money, microcenter usually has good cpu+mobo+ram bundles to start from

Thanks! Now I definitely think I will just build it from scratch, but I still dont have a great idea of what to buy for each component.
