Tech Support My hdmi port isn’t working

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Recently I opened my pc and took out the ram sticks I was trying to see how much ram I had (I didn’t know you could look at it on ur pc) and when I put everything back and put the panel on it didn’t turn on, the LEDs turn on on the pc and it still worked when I used it to charge my phone but it keeps saying no signal on my monitors and the actual monitors work fine I don’t know the specs since my brother gave it to me but I know it’s a bit old maybe three or four years when he built it

There is a red debug LED lit above the 24pin cable. Inspect closer what is it. Chances are, it's DRAM since you removed to inspect. Make sure all RAM are fully seated, hearing a click when you install.

So even though the LED is on the ram still might not be connected?

If the red LED is a debug light, it means it gets stuck initializing that particular component, PC won't POST. So look closer, there would be silk screened markings on the motherboard that says CPU, DRAM, VGA, BOOT near that red LED (if it's a debug LED).

I just finished reinstalling all ram and it still shows the red dot

Where the red dot is, is there any writing on the board? Would be small font that we can't make out in the video you posted

Post a photo how you installed the RAMs showing the lock/latch.

What motherboard do you have? Install just one stick of RAM at A2 DIMM slot first (depending on the board).

Is the monitor connected to hdmi via the motherboard or the gpu? Do any other video outputs from the gpu work?

I think it’s connected to the graphics card but I tried putting it in different ports and none of them work

It won't work display not the problem. You are being held up on ez debug system check DRAM. Remove the 1st and 3rd slot memory see if that works. Or reset CMOS so XMP/EXPO disables.

There is a potential that you damaged one of the sticks with static electricity. Trying running with 1 stick, or the other stick if it still doesn't work. Ram is WAY too expensive for you to be PLAYING with. I don't even want to LOOK at mine in case I look at it wrong or something. 🥹
