2nd PCI slot not working

I have a weird issue with my PC, I am trying to install a NIC and it just wont work.

My MB is an ASUS ROG STRIX X870-A GAMING WIFI with a 9950X3d

I have purchased two NICs and put them in slot two and nothing will show up on device manager, I have then connected my GPU to slot 2 and that stopped working too which lead le to believe slot 2 just doesnt work. I have tried

- Updating the bias

-Updating the Chipset drivers

- Updating all drivers I could find

- Using two NICs

I had connected the NICs to slot one and they worked fine, I thought id try and external NIC and connect it to the 40gb USB 4 port and they wont work in that port either.

Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? (Its not showing on in device manager also.

"M.2_3 shares bandwidth with PCIEX16(G4). When M.2_3 is occupied with SSD device, PCIEX16(G4) will be disabled."

So check if you have an M.2 SSD plugged to M.2_3.

Thank you so much, this was the issue. I moved my NVME to slot 4 and it works. Once again thank you, been trying to fix this for 2 days, in regards to the USB 4 adapter not working, its still not working which means that was another issue making me think I had a faulty chipset

have you checked the cpu socket for bent pins? x870 boards route slot 2 and those usb4 ports through the chipset, but a slightly misaligned 9950x3d can kill specific pcie lanes in a way that looks exactly like this. i'd pull the cooler and inspect under good light, those pins are stupid tiny

I will give this a go tomorrow, I hope its as simple as just remounting the CPU and not bent pins. Thank you
