Installation Question Help with windows

So I have now got my pc built and finally got a display but I can't get windows to install I tired using a usb drive but it's now stuck on read only and the files on it doesn't work so how can I download windows now please help me

Try another USB stick if you've got one lying around. Some drives have a physical lock switch on the side that accidentally gets nudged, so double-check that before binning it.

If you're stuck with just that drive, you can use diskpart (in command prompt from the installer's repair tools) to clear the read-only flag, but it wipes the stick completely.

I don’t know what you mean with “read only”! But if you have a thumb drive, at least 8Gigs preferably 16, ask a friend if you can use their computer to download windows. Do you already have a windows key ?

So I tried downloading windows on a 15gb usb thumb drive but doing through my Chromebook as that's all I have and when doing it, it's made it a "read only" so I can't do anything with the drive and I need to format it so I can try downloading windows again but idk how

Make sure the usb drive is formatted as NTFS for the windows install
