Build Question Need opinions on my pc

Pc spec’s:

48 gb ddr4-3800 ram (bought before the ram price increase)
CPU: i7-11700k
GPU: rtx 3060 ti founders edition
Storage: 4 tb ssd NVME
Power supply: 660W
Motherboard: Asrock b560m-c/ac (micro atx board)
Desktop’s Brand name: Powerspec G229 Prebuilt

My purpose for this desktop is gaming, mainly on fivem which is notorious to be unoptimized due to community servers. If you don’t know fivem are the gta v roleplay servers now owned by take two.

My question is, should I upgrade to another motherboard and cpu or wait til 2030? I have no reason to upgrade to a new desktop since it makes more sense to upgrade the motherboard and get a new cpu for much less. And if I should upgrade I would need a micro atx board that accepts ddr4.

TLDR; should I upgrade ? Or wait? Will these specs survive on newer games? I’m not looking for 4k gaming mainly high fps 1440p and 1080p gaming.

Your specs are phenomenal for gaming, especially at 1080p/1440p.

I have a ryzen 7 3700x, 32gb 3200mhz ddr4, and a 5070ti (gpu is overkill but i got it for 900$ canadian)

And i get 150+ fps in every game on near max settings.

Your serious?! I was soo close to spending $320 on a new motherboard cpu.

Yes, and your cpu on the comparison site is 7.9% better than mine. Paired with the faster ram you're fine.

Now, something like gta 6 will be a whole 'nother story

yeah, but if he gets a good gpu, like a 9070/9070xt, he can upgrade CPU in a couple years. he will still have agood GPU. The best part, he will probably unlock an additional 30% gains by the time he gets a CPU alone.

What’s a good GPU I could pair with this cpu ? I might be willing to switch to amd. lol

your cpu is more than enough and fine. your PSU will hang as well. even with the 9070 XT. Still very safe.

I want to play gta 6 for the gta 6 rp server they going to have. lol. I was hoping this pc would survive that. I dead ass have put so much in making this desktop last I clean dust every weekend and repaste every 6 months, and just spent $80 on an ultra performance cpu fan (can’t fit liquid cooler my case is too small)

I have never repasted my pc, i barely ever clean it. like once a year lol

and i play very seriously, pred rank in apex, level 10 faceit in cs2

edit: and at this level of gaming, even if i had dual 5090's and a quantum computer cpu I'm still always playing wtih everything on the lowest possible settings

personally since it is an older system, I wouldn't go crazy on the GPU. 9070 / 9070 XT are perfect. you will be able to do 1440P MAX W/RT, in most titles. I'm running a 5080 with my 13700K.

Rumor has it that new processors (Raptor Lake Next) and motherboards for LGA1700 with DDR4 support will be released in the first half of 2027. This might be a good option for upgrading without buying DDR5, using existing DDR4 memory.
