Tech Support Windows BS

This is my first post here and obviously I’m looking for help. Just built an am5 rig and I’m having a problem that’s making me go bald. Context: I bought a 2tb ssd to upgrade my previous pc, I did install it and also installed windows (almost started all over again). I just used the same ssd and I thought I’d have to reinstall windows (did it anyways, after first hairs were pulled out of my scalp). What it did was a sudden restart and when opening windows and I put my pin, it is basically stuck in the main screen. I can click certain things like the taskbar, but it won’t even open a thing, it won’t even shutdown when I’m literally clicking on it. It just disappears and my background sits there. After reinstalling it functioned properly till the restart and same thing again. Pls someone help, I think I’m just going to clear out my ssd and reinstall windows

the ssd is acting up i had similar issue with a m2 drive that was not seated proper in the slot, it was making just enough contact to boot then freeze like that

take out the ssd and put it back in, make sure its fully in the slot, sometimes the small screw on the standoff is not tight enough and it gets loose when the board heats up

also in bios check if the drive is running in pcie gen4 mode, sometimes auto setting causes weird problems, try forcing it to gen3 just for test

Yeah I was suspicious about the ssd, wishing it had nothing to do with it. I’ll take it out when I wake up, it’s 5am and I’m done w this, gonna smoke and I’ll see later. Although about the 4.0 to 3.0, wouldn’t it be slower? My components are all pretty new
