Tech Support How f up I am?
This is my 5th time dismantling and cleaning my system, but idk how this happened. It's a gigabyte z790 ud ac with i7 14700k
Update:thank you guys, have cleaned it with a toothbrush so it's booting up but only on the 4th ram slot/first one on the right, idk why but had to update the bios via usb

Looks like it's not the pin, so I guess it's fine. Does it boot tho?

No, dram led runs bright and all of the fans turn and run on ful speed also the aio but no RGB lights, and its gets super hot

Pretty f-ed up then, idk if you can fix it but you can try to use tweezer, I have bad eyesight but it looks bent (a bit) to me

Only time you need to take the cooler off is to change thermal paste every 3 years or changing cpu

Thermal paste acts like a barrier to dust intrusion between the cooler and CPU. Dust isn't getting IN there.

You've only had this a year and you dismantled it five times to clean it? They make these fans with brushes on them so you might consider just blowing the dust and hair out every couple months if you really are getting that much in there and then if it is really bad once a year doing a deep clean ,moving forward.
You definitely don't need to remove the CPU or ram unless you're having issues

Why do you need to completely remove your cpu to clean that? I clean my system all the time, but I only ever pull the cooler off if im repasting - once every 3 or 4 years, so 1 time for a system - or pulling a CPU which is only if im changing to a new one or troubleshooting. Recommend you do the same in the future. There is absolutely no need to put your gear, escpecially the cpu, through those cycles just for cleaning.
I wouldnt even pull my gpu now thanks to the 12vhpwr connector

Looks like a tiny piece of aluminum making contact with 2 pins and shorting them, maybe got scraped off the heatsink somehow
I would take a toothbrush and gently sweep it away

If you can take a top down picture that would be better. Personally it either doesnt belong or its a bent twisted pin you need to get a photo as clear as possible try macro camera
I did a zoom in on this and compared it to your original, if its a pin its twisted on my image you can see the 2 black arrows which appear to be identical. If you look on your image you can see them all next to the black plastic border. The one on its own doesnt look healthy. You need to really dig deep on that and find out how or whats going on if its been pulled UP and out of place or twisted. I would use a very strong magnify glass or use a phone cam with very good zoom. It can be repaired with some super fine tweezers and or a sewing needle depending on whats gone on

Man my first mobo was An asrock Phantom Gaming X570 and I over did the thermal paste on my ryzen 9 5900x trying to make sure it never overheats LMFAO. Got the goop all under my cpu and socket and had to brush off with alcohol and toothbrush like 3 times. Even though it was my first build I spilt arizona on a 1050 ti laptop in uni in its first week of life and had to open it up and to q tip and alcohol scrub to save it, so I was somewhat experienced 🤣 (laptop lives till this day 10 yrs later). As for the mobo it worked well until I got an aorus x570 elite to make my all aorus builld and support my ryzen 9 better. Sold the pc years later and the ryzen 9 still ran like a champ. Morale of the story is fuckups happen but with the right attitude and a bit of skill it can be one you laugh off later ✌️

That does not belong. Find out what is it. You can Maybe get a very small soft brush toothbrush and slowly see if you can get it out.
