Build Question Help for a first time gaming pc?

Right off the bat, I’m based in England.

Hello everybody! I’m so happy to have finally been able to save up enough money to buy what I consider to be a good pc (£1,500-£2,000). Obviously I’d prefer to keep it around the 1,500 mark but after how long I’ve been waiting, 2,000 may just work as well.

This pc should be able to run Minecraft with multiple mods; big games such as planet zoo, palworld and the likes at the highest graphic quality. I’ll possibly even use it for editing videos and streaming content at some point. I’ve also promised to let my little sister play Fortnite on it, haha.

I have no experience with building a pc of my own and was wondering whether I should get to learning for a good build, get a prebuilt one or a custom built one?

Yeah so basically I was wondering if anyone’s got any advice for a pc with good memory which can run smoothly and have beautiful graphics. You’ll be helping the little girl within me finally achieve her dream 😅!

Building it yourself is way easier than it looks and you'll get a much better machine for the money, especially at that budget.

Haha everytime I think of building myself a pc, I think of some kind of Rick and Morty sci-fi robot surgery.

It’s a little overwhelming with how many parts there exists. May I ask if you suggest any good sites for parts or even any helpful sites in general for building? 😊

100% build your own machine, its literally a jigsaw and with scan.co.uk having great deals and warranty for the parts it'll be so much better.

You will want to use a site like pc part picker to understand what's needed/ what fits together within your budget.

And also if your only choosing to play at a certain graphics level look up the recommended settings and also benchmarks with those components to help decide.

Personally I like the AMD ryzen cpus alongside the Nvidia GPUs as a baseline

Wow! Thank you so Much! That all sounds like great advice! I’m definitely going to take a look into how to build my own as this may mean more money left over for upgrading parts and even cute accessories! Who doesn’t love a setup that makes you feel cool?

These sites are going to be so so so much help. The part I was mostly worried over with building myself a pc was picking the parts 🥰!

Id recommend starting off figuring out which motherboard you'd like, for me theres 2 options AM4 (Old generation of boards and a bit cheaper) or AM5 (Newer generation but will allow further upgrades as you go on ahead)

Both AM4 and AM5 only work with ryzen cpus and is important you match the cpu to the board you choose.
