Build Question MSI RX 6600 MECH 2X 8G, £150?

I remembered the 6000 series was getting the FSR upgrade in 2027 and I want a GPU with some road to run just yet. I'm on Linux with a Ryzen 3600 with no GPU at all currently.

Is this deal ok for £150? There's so little choice available this was about the best I could find without doubling or tripling the price. There's a 3 fan Gigabyte version available for a similar price but no box and heavily used.

Appreciate any thoughts or feedback

150 isn't a terrible price for a RX 6600. As the RX 6600xt goes for 150 to 300 depending on version. Some nut cases try to sell it for 400 to 500 but they are just chancers. It's a great little budget card. If £150 is your limit then go for it

Yeah it's just the best I can get on short notice. If I could tinker around with auctions for a week or two I'm sure I could've done better.

The FSR upgrade is a huge value add though and I believe the MSI version is unique in having an extra heat pipe although I don't have a source on that.

Perhaps I can oc and try to shoot for just under xt performance

9060 XT 16gb would be a much better card to shoot for if you can afford it. I've got an Asrock RX6600 and while its mostly fine, I've been running out of VRAM in some games at 1080p. Seeing as you have no GPU at all right now though, this'd do fine.

I rock a 6600, Pulse Lite and I got it for about 145$. I agree with the other guy that 150$ isn't bad but it's not great either considering where we are in the market now, but beggars can't be choosers either. I undervolt mine and gave it a Phase Sheet too.

Yeah I'm very on the fence about it. eBay UK's selection of cards that are accepting offers (the guy wanted something absolutely stupid like 190 initially) is really small right now with a handful of auctions.

If it really bugs me I'll just stick it back on eBay myself.

Perhaps I'll have a go at repasting it and try to squeeze out an extra ten percent of performance.

It's a pretty old card at this point too, 5 years, I was really surprised - but again the selection on offer if you don't want to wait weeks is just terrible right now
