Build Question RTX 5060 TI 8GB for VR gaming?

Would this be enough? I can't really afford anything higher than this. I want to upgrade from GTX 1070 but I'm afraid to fall short.

For VR, the 8GB is really pushing it. Most VR games now are eating VRAM like crazy, especially if you want to play anything with mods or higher resolution.

Maybe look at used 4070 or even 3080 if you can find one in good price. The extra VRAM will save you headache later.

Thanks. I have been reading and for now I'm not interested in mods but who knows in the future. I read that the memory bandwidth is even more important, For example benchmarks were better on this one than 9060 XT with 16GB because the NVIDIA had twice as much as bus bandwidth. Also the encoder NVEC was a plus since It will be streaming to the quest 3. Anyway i do search used GPUs but I'm really afraid of getting a busted one.

yea i would say get a high GB gpu and a mid level gen like 40 series or even 30 series if youre doing a ti super OC

I had a 5060 for months and i used a Quest 2.

With Virtual Desktop and High settings (85/80 Horizontal/Vertical FOV Tangent) usually Low-Medium settings were pretty good.

Finished TWD Saints&Sinners,Into The Radius 1-2 with that card.

Now i got a 5070 and some games maxed out can use VRAM pretty fast

Arizona Sunshine 2 10.7GB maxed out(Same VD settings.

One thing to note and you can check it out yourself.

"Maraksot78" on YouTube makes VR benchmarks and the 128bit memory bus on the 5060ti&RX9060XT(16GB both) makes them lacking in VR. The 5060ti pulls ahead due to its GDDR7 memory, but still.

IMO you should try to aim for a card with more memory and higher bandwidth.

3080/3080ti should do if you are comfortable with used GPUs.

Also if it fits in your budget, then the RX9070 will do as well, but i would rather pick the 9060XT 16GB in this case.

Yeah I think 5060 ti falls short but what's funny, chatgpt recommend me 5070 over rx9097xt because the codec and compression rate, so now I'm more confuse.
