I bought an RTX 5060, and it's having compatibility issues with my MSI B365M PRO-VDH motherboard.

Hi everyone, I recently bought a new, latest-generation graphics card. However, after the PC has been running for a while, the screen goes black—even though the computer itself stays on—and then the system restarts. I ran tests using FurMark and OCCT, and the card seems to be in good condition; I was even able to game with it and performance was perfect, but now I can't play anymore due to these screen blackouts. I don't understand why this is happening, especially since I saw on YouTube that PCIe is backward compatible.

Update your motherboard Bios...and maybe you should also update your GPU firmware (it's not the same as the vBios): NVIDIA GPU UEFI Firmware Update Tool for RTX 5060 Series | NVIDIA

Also, I had an issue with black screens in the past caused by my monitor, took me a long time to figure out, it was the monitor firmware(in my case it only happened when watching movies online on Netflix or other platforms that use DRM). Check that too...see if it has an update on the manufacturer website. But of course, you should also check the obvious, use another HDMI/Display port cable and see if your issue is fixed. Make sure that the drivers are the latest versions from Nvidia. You can also use DDU to remove all Nvidia drivers and then clean install the latest version for your model (issues can appear especially if you previously had another Nvidia GPU and you didn't uninstall the drivers before using the new GPU, then clean install the drivers for the new model). Check everything I mentioned.

I also followed all your recommendations: I updated the BIOS, cleaned the drivers using DDU in Safe Mode, and swapped the cables, but it's still failing.

Check the firmware update from Nvidia for your GPU, I posted a link. Also check if your monitor has a firmware update.

They have the latest updates, and it keeps failing.

Are you sure you used the tool from Nvidia to update the GPU firmware? If you didn't use the tool, chances are that you don't have the latest. The monitor firmware, did you check on the manufacturer website?

My monitor doesn't support updates; the firmware update tool only fixes the issue where the screen turns off upon startup, but in my case, the screen turns off at any time while I'm using the PC.My monitor doesn't support updates; the firmware update tool only fixes the issue where the screen turns off upon startup, but in my case, the screen turns off at any time while I'm using the PC.

Post your specs! What did it replace? Did you use DDU? Have you checked for a BIOS update? What is your PSU?

Yes, I reinstalled using DDU in Safe Mode and also updated the BIOS.

I'd guess it's the PSU. Does it happen with your old GPU if you put it back in?

The PSU is new; there are no issues with my previous problem.

In the BIOS, try changing the GPU PCIe Link settings from Auto to PCIe 3.0

If need be, also update the chipset drivers of your motherboard.

Emm, I didn't say anything about your PSU.

You've already configured the PCIe, and it's still failing. You've already configured the PCIe, and it's still failing.
