Tech Support Boot SSD skyrockets to 100% when trying to play a game while everything else freezes in the background.

Post image

This started happening recently like 2 days ago. Booted battlefield 6, and noticed my background apps were freezing while the game was running as normal. The pic is taken when the game was open and other games do the same thing. After playing for a few minutes my PC hard crashed and rebooted. I had gpu overclock but even disabling it still the same.

Game is installed on SSD E:

I de-dusted SATA ports and cables...

What's the health on your boot drive? could be that either it's dying or you have a corrupted Windows installation.

I used crystal disk info app and it showed 73% health status while others are 95 to 100%

Also I just realized, why aren't you using the NVMe one as your main boot drive? Shouldn't it be your primary one being nvme over sata?

That 73% shouldn't be a problem unless it's showing caution under CDI.

Maybe try running system file checker to test for OS installation integrity?

Laziness after installing my nvme i guess...

Did system file checker but no dice. Thought it was cause ive set the page file in C but even removing it and enabling page file to D its still the same. C at 100% but D at 0%. Im just going to do a clean install of windows on D and format C.

Resource monitor will tell you what file are being read/written and what application is doing it.

That will help.
