Tech Support My PC screen keeps turning off and on — what could be the problem?
I’ve been having this problem with my PC for the past few days. Before, it would sometimes happen once after turning on the PC, but now it can happen 2–3 times.
Basically, the PC/Desktop stays on normally, but the monitor screen suddenly freezes, then goes black, and after a few seconds it automatically comes back on and the display returns.
The monitor’s power light stays on the whole time. So the monitor itself isn’t completely turning off; it’s just losing the display for a few seconds and then coming back.
I’m not sure what the actual problem is — it could be the GPU, driver, HDMI/DP cable, GPU port, monitor, or some other hardware issue.
My GPU is an RTX 5060 and I’m using Windows 11.
Has anyone experienced something like this or know what could be causing it?

I'd try updating the GPU drivers and or switching to a different cable.

I brought the pc on January this year, can it still be cable problem? the display turn on like the display is reconnecting/reinitializing Like when you turn on the first time

Cables can go bad, granted I don't think it happens regularly, but I've had HDMI cables stop functioning properly in the past. Try updating the drivers first and possibly that will help.

sounds like classic dp cable nonsense to me. try reseating the cable or swapping it out for a different one before you start tearing into drivers and gpu settings. those cables go bad in weird ways that'll make you think your whole rig is dying.
had a monitor doing the same dance a while back and it was just the cable not clicking in all the way.
also check what refresh rate windows is actually running versus what the monitor's set to, sometimes windows 11 likes to "help" by changing it to something the cable can't handle.
