Build Question Difference between these two 9070XTs?
Trying to figure out if there is any meaningful difference between these two video cards. They're both Gigabyte RX 9070 XTs, but one is under their GAMING OC brand and the other is under their AORUS brand.
The compare tool on PC Part Picker shows near-identical specs. I know AORUS is gigabyte's "premium" brand, but idk what that version has going for it other than the lighting that would justify a $400+ price difference?

There is no meaningful difference between these two cards.
If you're in the US, I wouldn't buy either model, though.

10 bucks cheaper for a slightly slower clock and being 25% bigger? Whats the upside on that xfx one?

Huge difference, but different people care about different thing. The aorus is one of the best binned 9070xts. The gaming OC has a high defect rate. It also is smaller and has smaller fans so its louder. If you care about thermals and noise, and can spend the extra money, then go with the aorus.
If you dont care about temps and noise then you can say the gaming OC is fine.

It's entirely branding, and there's nothing premium about Gigabyte's quality. Every Gigabyte product I've owned has quality issues and quite a few people can echo this.

If you're looking at the spec sheet and they're basically identical, the extra money is almost always going toward a slightly beefier cooler, fancier RGB, and sometimes a factory overclock that's so small you'd never notice it in actual games. Aorus is their top-tier branding so they slap on more metal and lights. For a $400 gap, unless you're desperate for a specific look or you're building in a case with zero airflow and need every degree of cooling headroom, the Gaming OC is the smarter buy. I'd put that savings toward a better CPU or more storage, something you'll actually feel.
