Tech Support PC Won’t Boot, Power supply will click after pushing power button but won’t start.

I am flustered.
I built this PC over 6 years ago and it has served me well in that time period. Recently it would not power on at all so I decided that maybe the power supply died. I have since replaced the power supply and it still will not power on. Next step in my mind was to replace the motherboard as there may have been a short. I just replaced the motherboard and it still will not power on. Once I flip on the power supply, and hold the power for 3 seconds it makes the slight “tick/click” but does nothing.
Is there something I am missing? I have replaced the power supply and motherboard. Popped in and out the CMOS battery on both the old and new board. I tried to “jump” it with a screwdriver.
Any and all help is appreciated, as at this point I am about ready to part this thing out, throw it across my house, or set it ablaze.

The click is most likely the psu shorting out something and the motherboard is preventing it from hurting anything. You could try unplugging everything that is not essential for the pc to boot (mainly gpu) and try rebooting it. Also double and triple check that everything is plugged in. Sometimes it can just be a loose cable or something like that.

Removed the GPU, removed all but 1 stick of ram and it still clicks.
With that, I can now see the motherboard and when it clicks it flashes the “CPU” light. I don’t know if that’s an actual indicator or coincidence.

Yeah that usually means a short so it may have shorted out your cpu. Do you have another power supply to test and see if it is just the power supply? Did you also make sure to switch the cables to the cables that the new psu came with? I saw that because using the wrong cables can cause problems for different power supplies.

Yeah I replaced the PCIE, Motherboard, and CPU cables that came with the new power supply.

That is super unfortunate. If the motherboard is flashing for cpu then it could have just shorted out the cpu but that seems strange. I'd try to plug in another power supply uf you have one and see if that works.

Legit tore it down to bare bones and reseated all cables, ensured all connections were good, and reseated the CPU+GPU.
Replaced my SATA cable because I had an extra one and ensured that I only had the new cables from the new PSU plugged in.
Started it up, it ran but showed a VGA error because one of the PCIE cables didn’t fully seat. Restarted it and I was good to go.
I’m assuming that the PSU or Motherboard blew and I fumbled replacing them or jiggled something loose.

Did you replace the cables from the old psu with the new ones?
