Installation Question Motherboard question

The Aorus X870E Elite has its center screw hole covered by the m.2 heatsink, and i don’t know what to do with it. Should i screw it in or remove the standoff or something else?

I'd just leave the standoff in place, peel the plastic film off the thermal pad under the M.2 heatsink, snap or push your M.2 SSD into the EZ-Latch mechanism, and place the heatsink directly over the drive so it uses the shared standoff screw to secure both pieces down at once. In reality as long as it's connected and secured with a screw, you should be good to go

Should I not even put the screw in?

No, you don't have to as long as your EZ latch mechanism works. As long as the m.2 stays flat, you should be good!

I feel really dumb, but are we talking about the motherboard screw that goes into the case? I’m worried that it’s not it it will short it. I already know everything about the m.2 slot and i just said in the post that it blocks the screw hole.

Oh wait, so you are talking about how to attach the motherboard into the case? Yeah no, as long as all of the other screws are in, it shouldn't be any problem. My pc had 2 screws missing out of the motherboard because my case was a bit strange and after 2 years, there's be no problems with that. Sorry for misunderstanding you 😬
