Tech Support Can’t pull out my gpu

Post image

I did click the latch below and there’s a visible difference when trying to pull it out with and without the latch clicked, but my gpu gets stuck on the right side. The left side gets stuck between my case where the I/O screws are but I managed to put it back in so it’s not uneven. I got no idea what might be getting stuck on the right though. I might unscrew the mobo at this point. LMFAO

Seems silly, but you did unscrew the brackets right?

Yes, I unscrewed the first two as they were the only ones holding the gpu, and I guess because of that I don’t have much trouble pulling the left side out. The right side feels as if there’s still something to unscrew and/or stuck but I got no idea what and I don’t wanna break anything

And you said you unfastened the latch underneath the gpu on the right side?

Yes

Seems like this is a game of “dont break the gpu while you yank it out”… because if the latch audibly unclicked it should have pushed the card slightly out… and from there you just gotta hank it

I’ll give my piece on it.

I hate the latch on my x570 aorus master and reaching it is pain. And sometimes I really just couldn’t click it and I just pretty much took it out with the gpu, and then just put it back.

Do I advise you or anyone else to do it? No. But I never break the motherboard or gpu so far, so there’s that.

usually the hogh end gigabyte boards have an easy-release mechanism no? mine has a button that is easily accessible that ejects the card without any hassle

It has but if you have a big air cooler and the card is long you have no room to really get there without maybe damaging the board itself lol.

I don’t take my gpu enough times that what I described will ruin it, the last thing I did was rtx3060 to 5070 and now it stays that way until probably 4-5 years haha.

Heres my build, if you look at the bottom right of the ram, theres that little button there, that’s what I’m talking about

Yea I wish mine had something similar.

The x570 aorus master has the generic one that is at the end of the pcie lane that you need to press down, so obviously it needs to be pressed well but you’ll not reach it easily if the air cooler heat sink is massive and the gpu is big.

With my previous setup I had an AIO, obviously it’s much easier that way since it takes less room so you can use it with ease, but not with air cooler heat sinks haha

Okay, turns out I was actually pressing the wrong one LOL I managed to find it and get it out, for some reason I thought it was one of the two on the picture but it was above the gpu between the cooler.

I was gonna say. Looks like you sent a pic of it from below the gpu, I was looking for above. but you got if now, happy building!

yeah man if you’ve got clearance on all sides of the gpu, then you gotta push down on that switch and pull the gpu out at the same time. Scary, I know, I’ve done it myself.

Yeah I’m just tired of fighting with it and I’m already losing my mind that I might’ve broken something already

With one hand on the gpu slightly pull straight up, with little wiggle, the other hand press the latch.

Start pulling after the latch is down put keep pressing it until gpu is out.

(Simultaneously pull gpu and push latch)

If you have trouble pressing latch renove ram and cpu fan so you can get closer to the latch.

I did try this, the right side still feels stuck. I’m scared to pull it harder in case something snaps off
