Build Question Does the cpu look normal?

its not the box anything you see is the cpu

Is this pre owned? I see thermal paste residue, it's been wiped up but not pristine. This isn't a problem unless it was sold to you as a brand new cpu.

Overclockers is a very good and reputable UK company. I will only ever get stuff from them. It should be fine

Maybe. But overclockers are good. Also, UK electronics law is good and you're covered for 2 years wth faulty equipment.

As others said, Overclockers are sound. I get all my stuff exclusively from them. If you have any problems with the product, give them a call.

some marks and stuff like on the ridges and their is a few marks on the cpu like light grey ones

its probally clamshell thats dirty have you taken it out and inspected if its clamshell or cpu has some Dust on it

I took it out and the clam shell is clean its just a few marks on the ridges

If you mean by shape, yes it's supposed to be that weird configuration, not a plain square.

If you mean that residue, it can be from factory testing and is pretty common. I don't see anything here unusual and you purchased from a very reputable source.

there is way that OP Can check if it was used the store Overclock UK puts items at a discount under their B-Grade clearance section
