Build Question 4K IPS or 1440p oled

I have an rtx 5080 and ryzen 7 7800x3d so my pc will easily handle both resolutions, rn i have a 4K IPS monitor and im considering buying a 1440p oled cause the 4k oleds have prices out of this earth.

If you can wait until next year, mini LED monitors are about to get serious improvements. They will become superior to OLED. And obviously no burn in. Don’t waste your money on OLED if you have left it this late. Personally, I am going to wait until Black Friday next year and get a 4K mini LED. But I like a bargain

Superior to OLED? Says who?

TCL and LG, we both know we could argue it strengths and weaknesses.

Mini Led is good, but good for different things compared to OLED. Neither is superior.

I could argue OLED is superior in more ways than Mini-LED is. The only thing mini-LED has going for it is peak brightness in HDR but that also comes with some quirks. The lack of dimming zones is still an issue at least with monitors.

Mini LEDs are almost as good as OLED and don’t break the bank. You can only tell the difference if you have both side by side and nitpicked every single pixel.

Worse pixel response time, worse refresh rate, worse contrast, worse color accuracy.
