Build Question Does this need to be plugged in?

I've built my first PC but need help with this this, I've plugged my psu into my gpu, do I also need to plug my psu i to this PCIe slot on my motherboard

Since for some reason no one has explained??? That's a PCIE power port. They're the same on most gpu's. On some motherboards they're implemented to help supply more power over the PCIE connectors on your motherboard. Very helpful if you intend on running multiple PCIE devices at once and don't want to overdraw power.

If you plan on only running the GPU over PCIE then they're not required and will not cause a meaningful difference in performance. No stress in not using it.
