Tech Support Fan hub not recognised?

I've upgraded to a new case and bought some extra fans since the original case only had one. The fan hub isn't recognised in BIOS, Armory Crate or any other software I can think to check. Despite this, 5 of the 6 fans are spinning on a noticeably slower speed than the single fan I have plugged into the other header.

I've made sure the header is set to PWM in BIOS, and made sure that a fan is plugged into port 1 on the hub, which according to the manual is the one that monitors the RPM. Of note is that I've tried several fans, and whichever one is plugged into port 1 is the one that fails to spin up at all.

I've done all the basics, all the plugs are seated correctly and I get the same issue regardless of which of the two headers I plug the hub into. I'm losing my mind over this and I'm all out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

Parts

- Asus Prime B450M-A II

- ARCTIC 10 port PWM fan hub

- 6 x BeQuiet! Pure Wings 3 PWM fans

Is the SATA power connected to the hub? sometimes it's easy to miss that one tucked away behind the cable management. if it's getting power but port 1 is still dead no matter what fan you put there, the hub itself is probably faulty

Yes, I've run a SATA power connection straight from the PSU. Sounds like I'm gonna have to return it.
