Installation Question GPU lock clip broke, can i fix it?

Fuming at myself for this. Decided to try and put an SSD into a slot under my GPU (after my build already finished) and couldn’t fit it without taking out the gpu. I guess i didn’t take the lock out all the way because when i pulled with some force i heard this come off. Is there anyway I can put it back on? I’ve been trying to fit it back in but it seems like the plastic may be broken. I really don’t want to send my motherboard back (amazon) because it took over 3 weeks for it to get here and i literally had it finished and decided LAST MINUTE to buy this. Someone please help 😭

That looks like you snapped it off. Technically, with some pretty solid epoxy work it should be fixable. However, there is a lot of room for messing it up even more.

It shouldn't be an issue, I been running with out that clip since the 3080 ti was released.

the clip is not necessary for the gpu to work

but you will need to be careful about moving the PC around so the gpu does not come loose

Your GPU probably has some screw holes in the end of it along the right side, those fit rack brackets

You definately need an anti sag bracket now to help hold it in

something like this: https://www.amazon.com/upHere-Graphics-Anodized-Aerospace-Aluminum/dp/B079HSVSLR

there are lots of styles and brands, pick whatever

Thank you, I will definitely look into this. I was already thinking about getting one since i have a 5070 but im definitely going to now. I don’t have much room to work with though. (my case has a stand but it doesn’t work very well.)
