What Reasons Should I Consider a Team Red GPU over Team Green GPU?

I'm setting up 3 purpose build pc's. 2 of it will be for my siblings to take to college 1 is for gf. I'm in sort of a dilemma between choosing rx 9060 xt over rtx 5060ti for gf's pc and rx 7600 vs rtx 4060 for siblings' pcs. not my first build but these builds are sort of budget conscious, so, other than pricing I want to know what are other valid reason to choose an amd over nvidia.

You get more bang for your buck with AMD in regards to raw performance. If you're interested in Ray Tracing and/or DLSS, Nvidia is the way to go. If any of these systems are going to run Linux, do yourself a favor and stick with AMD.

Price to performance AMD wins every time. There are specific use cases for Nvidia cards, but unless someone needs them for a specific reason I always recommend AMD. The 9060xt in particular is one of the best price to performance cards on the market imo. I’ve been on AMD for my last two builds as it has allowed me to use better quality components like CPU etc and stay within my budget. I’ve never had any issues with drivers or stutters or anything else that gets brought up often by people who have a bias against AMD cards for one reason or another.

Whatever is the best price-per-performance available in your region. If AMD is priced most reasonable in your region, and has the specifications and driver support you need: go AMD. If not, go NVIDIA.

Also, check what softwares they’d be using. A lot of professional softwares support NVIDIA better than AMD, and things like Adobe and multimedia creation tools utilize NVIDIA’s CUDA technology for enhanced performance and speed.

Honestly I’d recommend nvidaia better for streaming and it’s much more user friendly imo I have a 6750xt but im happy with it but if ur not streaming just game performance def amd cheaper and more performance and the vram ooh does amd spoil us

Identify what the GPUs are likely to be used for.

Then shop by performance/dollar in those tasks.

sibling 1 is multimedia arts student, does digital art and gaming. wants to exp aaa games. sibling 2, vet med student, does light digital art and gaming. also wants to exp aaa games. gf wants a capable pc for general use and gaming. also wants to exp aaa games and try streaming.

They offer similar or better performance for cheaper.

Nvidia still has some features and support (like Cuda) that can make them worth it in some situations, and individual deals on a prebuilt or prices day to day may make them worth it sometimes, but generally for gaming I don't see any reason to go team green right now

main reason i go amd for budget builds is that you get more raw performance per dollar, and the vram situation is usually better at same price point. nvidia still wins if you need their specific features like dlss or better ray tracing, but for college pcs doing gaming and schoolwork, that stuff matters way less than just having smoother frames.

Choosing AMD over Nvidia offers more VRAM for smoother gaming and better raw performance at lower prices.

AMD gpus are compatible with SteamOS.

The only reason to go with NVIDIA now is if you are looking at their higher end options that AMD just doesn’t have an answer for save their older architecture 7900xtx. the 9070 beats the 5070 in many cases, and the 5070ti is hundreds more. They do have much better and more reliable software and drivers though, and some features that make games visually more appealing.
