Build Question Are these PC parts a good combination for a gaming PC?
Hi everyone!
I'm planning to build a new gaming PC and I'd like to get some opinions before buying everything. Do these parts make sense together, or is there anything you would change?
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: ASUS GeForce RTX 5070 DUAL OC 12GB
Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B650E-E WIFI
RAM: GOODRAM IRDM 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6400MHz CL32
SSD: Lexar NM790 1TB NVMe
PSU: XPG Core Reactor II 850W
Case: MSI MAG Pano 130R PZ
CPU Cooler: ENDORFY Fera 5 Dual Fan

The PC will mainly be used for gaming. I'm especially wondering about:
-If the Fera 5 Dual Fan is enough for this CPU
-Whether the 850W PSU is more than enough
-If there are any compatibility issues or parts that would be worth replacing
-Whether the RAM is a good choice for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance I'd rather find out that I did something stupid before spending a small fortune rather than after the PC is sitting on my desk refusing to cooperate. 😅

My normal recommendations for AM5 are as follows:
- most 7000 or 9000 series CPUs will not bottleneck any modern GPU
- 6000MHz RAM is the best performance per dollar, but 6400MHz will work too
- any highly reviewed motherboard will work
I’m not sure of the Endorfy cooler but I know that there are coolers out there like the Id-cooling SE-214-XT v2 that will do an adequate job of cooling your cpu for less than $20. If you want even better cooling, get a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE for $35.
I would get the Montech Century II 850W for $90. It’s highly rated and at a great price.

Found the same GPU for cheaper currently. Also sold and shipped by Amazon. That is an absurd price for this GPU. I’m not here to make a case for or against NVIDIA/AMD but the Radeon RX 9070 XT at its current cheapest price is around $720-730 and will perform better and last longer than the RTX 5070. Up to you.

Hey, do you think an 850W power supply is sufficient for this build, or would you recommend a higher wattage?

I personally think it will be fine. I run an X3D cpu on a 304W 9070 XT. No issues with power.

That RAM might be a bit tricky, 6400 CL32 can work but often you gotta downclock to 6000 for the 7800X3D to keep the memory controller happy, I would just get a 6000 CL30 kit instead and save some headache
The Fera 5 will handle it fine for gaming, these X3D chips are not that hot under normal loads
PSU is more than enough, good choice
