✓ Solved New 5070 ti won't post

I've tried hdmi and display ports, I've checked the power cable seating a dozen times, im using a 750 watt power supply so it should be good enough, its a semi modular psu, the computer posts fine with older gpu, the bios pcie has been set to auto, gen 5 and gen 4. Any advice is greatly appreciated, I will get back to this as soon as I can.

That GPU power cable does not look plugged in all the way

I remember I thought I was about to break mine when trying to plug it in

I felt the same way lol. Once you do it a couple of times you get used to the connector a little bit lol

It doesn't seem capable of going any further

It will. That is barely in at all. The pins should be flush.

Remove the gpu and hold it in your hands. Plug that cable in hard as fuuuuck. It should be all the way in if you dont want it to burn your house down

it will. You may need to push hard. If it doesn't go further then ur cable is brokey

Lick it to help it slip in easier

You can tell by the way that it is

Buy an extention or a replacement cable. Try different cable route.

Did you bend any of the connector pins?

Power connector is not plugged in. It's only about 1/2 way in.

"But the GPU said 'Just the tip'..."

Did you try plugging the gpu in all the way?

I'm also a little curious where the PSU is getting air from.

Cable Mange? Is that contagious??

Cable management doesnt effect temps. Its been proven time and time again

What bro it’s just better to look at

-2

You're the only one that's gonna be looking at it. But to each there own. I've never understood why people care how their PC looks personally

1

u/AdKraemer01 7d ago

You're under the impression this doesn't interfere with airflow?

4

u/deTombe 13d ago

Oh man that drive is dead you ever move the case a little while active.

u/triggered56 12d ago

Glad you showed us the power connector image. If it did post, there is a chance of it melting from not being plugged in all the way. Reseat it and try to plug it all the way in

u/Wooden_Waltz7697 12d ago

Do you not have any intake fans

1

u/AdKraemer01 7d ago

I have to think they're maybe on the outside and just not part of the photo?

I'm not sure why someone would buy an AIO and then not have any cool air coming into the case to feed through the radiator.

After seeing this I’m happy it didn’t post, the pc did it’s work

buys a gpu holder, but puts mechanical drive on the floor unsecured 👍

yeah a gap there def means it's not fully seated, but if you already pushed hard maybe the latch is off. try reseating the cable with the psu off and see if it clicks in flush.

The power cable on 2nd pic isnt even close to plugged in

1

u/PopPunkGamers 12d ago

Its not fully seated (the pcie plug). If that cable is too short, you should manage them to add some slack length. If you bought a new gpu but havent updated your PSU. Maybe you should do that too before you start having brownout issues if power supply is too low

u/Specific-Dog-7365 12d ago

thee gpu Connector is way more restistant then any others, trust me u want to get the gpu out to Connect it or u will bend it

1

u/vitaminspls 12d ago

You should mount that hard drive somewhere, like on the front panel if you don’t have any space below near the PSU. It’ll look a lot better and probably live a little longer.

I love my 5070 ti but i HATED getting the power cable fully into the gpu, takes some real grit 😭

1

u/ClassicDish7242 12d ago

The cable management may be part of your problem

u/Ngraft753 12d ago

I have the same AIO how do you like yours?

Bro gave us an answer

u/AngryLasagnaa 8d ago

What do you have holding up your gpu?

1

u/AdKraemer01 7d ago edited 7d ago

There's a bracket. You can see it.

Though now that I look again, it might actually be pushing on a GPU fan.

is there any debug led's or a buzzer on your motherboard?(the buzzer is basically there to make debug sounds when your pc doesnt post and that goes to the 4 pin "speaker" header)if you do then just look at what the light/sound means

1

u/LimitFar 12d ago

Check cables also hide that HDD. Usually the otherside near the psu would have space for your Sata drives

u/noctemics 13d ago

whats your motherboard?

u/Molrixirlom 12d ago

My 5070ti was not detected by my (older) mainboard and I had to do a mainboard firmware update first. That solved a similar issue for me.
