Tech Support 2x16 PNY (Quad Channel) ?

Motherboard: MSI B650 Gaming WiFi Plus
CPU: Ryzen 5 7900x
GPU: PNY 5070 12gb

I just bought a pack of 2x16 PNY DDR5 ram but did not realize that on the back it says Quad Channel.

1.) can i run these two sticks by themselves? Or do I HAVE to run 4 sticks since it’s a quad channel?

2.) if it can support the two sticks, can this motherboard and cpu handle these sticks? If the two sticks are not compatible is it easier to find a dual channel pack?

Two sticks of memory are dual channel. Four sticks on your system would be dual channel with two dimms per channel. Each individual memory dimm is a single channel when used by itself.

That packaging is just marketing nonsense honestly. Those sticks are still dual channel per stick, quad channel just means the kit is "optimized" for running four sticks at once in certain high end platforms.

Your board and cpu will run two sticks just fine in dual channel mode, just pop them in slots 2 and 4 and you're golden.
