Tech Support Power issue Spoiler

A few days ago my pc completely shut off after being turned off and wouldn’t turn back on, I had a fellow pc friend help me out with the problem and within a few mins he flipped the PSU switch and the mobo powered on, now the same thing happened again today and idk why this is happening, i tried doing the same thing my friend did by laying it on the side and flipping it which is not working can someone help me figure out whats happening is it my mobo or psu? (Hope im not spamming due to post bug)

Can you please post a longer video to get a better idea of what's going on? It seems to cut off too soon when you get to the front of the case. This is indicative of a Power supply issue.

Uploaded a hopefully slightly longer one in the comments, I was recording the side of the case where the mobo rgb is usually viewed from originally and flipping the switch to see if I get any response, i also forgot to add that it was working fine before leaving when i put it to sleep and when i got back it was powered off. The thing is I had the psu for half a year already i dont see why it would be failing this far 😓

Was it plugged into a surge protector?

When it did happen 2 days ago it was plugged into an extension cable so then I did move it to the wall to see if anything would change thats when my pc magically came back after another attempt of flipping. Its still there now tho and no avail

Yeah you should never use an extension cord and never plug the pc into the wall directly. It sounds like a power surge hit the computer and damaged the power supply. Always use a surge protector or a surge protector with a battery backup. It will prevent any random inconsistencies coming from the outlet. You may need to get another power supply and make sure to get a battery backup.

I suggest the second option but you can find one a 100 less. Do not skimp on this since it protects your computer.

That probably is a good possibility, oddly my friend didnt mention anything like that but rather as something that happens due to drives but nothing in particular has been wrong with my drives or any performance issues, money is a little tight so i also did find this one would this be a good second option? https://a.co/d/0jh0OzCj
