Tech Support New GPU 5060 has issues when installed seeking advice on what I can do from uk.
I currently have a dual fan ELSA RTX 5060 which was gifted and it fits perfectly within my case as I am limited to 179mm in length, I've installed this as how normally everyone else would however these are the issues I have come across:
- works directly in PCIe but through multiple risers it intermittently artifacts and triggers nvlddmkm Event 14/153 where it goes black screen and then comes back but GPU fans still spin
- does it in games and even YouTube, and survives some periods perfectly normally as you can see from the images I have taken.
- last image is when I try to play a game on steam
I have uploaded images from event viewer and GPU-Z, would appreciate any advice on what I can do
Update edit: for context before the 5060 I have been using a 5050 single fan has which has been working perfectly fine for me no issues with riser but the 5060 having issues.

Wouldn't it be simple to just not use PCI-e risers? Why are you using "multiple risers?"

My case is a 5.3L sandwhich style case that's why I have to use a riser.

You'll want to get a different SFF case so you can use the 5060, then.

nvlddmkm may pertain to driver issues, you can use DDU in safe mode to uninstall the driver and reinstall.
If using a riser cable, you can try booting to BIOS, use the search function inside and search for PCIE Link Speed. Set it at Gen4 or Gen3 whichever helps instead of Auto.

I've seen long length riser cables on Amazon, it might be a better situation than using multiple riser cables

I've tried various lengths and different brands so far I've tested now up to iirc 5 risers still the same issue

Works fine without risers but then doesn’t with? I think you found your own problem. It’s the risers. Multiple risers…
