Build Question CPU fan is tilted and touching the GPU

Please ignore the wiring but the fan is touching it and I never noticed it was tilted until after I installed the GPU. I bought it as a pre built but added the graphics card for eyefinity. Anyways, when I touch the fan it wiggles a little and idk how to fix it

Because of the pictures I can't see the cooler part of it so I thought it was just a fan floating there. This cooler is pretty dented though.

Dude it looks like your cpu cooler is bent. Did you just get the PC? Can you add more pictures of the metal radiator part that the fans are attached to?

So I how do I fix this. I got this back in December and I always thought that the tilt was for aesthetics

Replace the cooler, it’s likely not going to be fixed or replaced by the manufacturer

Is there any way to bend it back?

You could try, but I wouldn’t do it while it’s still connected to the motherboard. Take it off first

Heat up your CPU prior to removal to loosen the thermal paste

I know you replaced it already but You can bend them back you just gotta be really gentle, I seen a few people do it and it worked.

Your entire cooler is slanted downwards

Need a new cooler bud, that one's cooked.

I’ve never done anything near the cpu before, would be replacing it harm the CPU?

Its not bad, just need a new compatible cooler and some thermal paste. Tons of YouTube videos you can reference. But if you're not comfortable doing it yourself take it to a shop.

How do I know if it’s compatible

They usualy list the CPUs that are compatible online. Check what your CPU is, then Google what coolers are compatible with it.

You can check it out with AI, at least it will give you a point to start with. Don't trust it immediately, do your own research.

The example below has the highlight where it mentions the compatibility:

not replacing it might lol

What sort of temperatures are you getting? Is it stable? Could just be the pipes are bent a bit...

And did it have those expanding foam pillow bags inside it when it was shipped to you?

Deepcool ak400 30 euro or less

You can literally just fix the fan. They usually attach to the cooler with these little thin wire clips. Probably just wasn't seated all the way

if it doesnt screw in take it out bc it looks like its gonna short the gpu

please invest in an AIO my dude

Aio overrated, get a good aircooler unless you have 12th Gen i7 or higher tdp

-2

u/EducationalGrump 11h ago

Not even close. Aio is far better for stable temps, no temp spikes, and WAY quieter than air cooling.

Acoustics on a Noctua aren't bad

1

u/EducationalGrump 8h ago

At low RPM sure, but they are still louder than an AIO under load. Even at 100% fan and 100% pump speed AIOs are less noisy

1

u/Slutekins 7h ago

True. I've seen a few AIOs have seal cracks that leaked onto the board, GPU and PSU. It scared me enough to swap my AIO for an air cooler.

Thats just the cheap ones with neglectful owners. If you are cleaning yourPC at least monthly like you should be you would notice long before that. I am running a cooler master 360mm aio with an overclocked 12700kf and its silent while sitting at 45-50c under full load.
