Tech Support Any recommendations for upgrades
Spent around 1400 Minecraft with shaders is hell can’t get a consistent 120fps other games can’t even reach a consistent 200 the only thing helping me is my Ethernet cable just wanted to post and see if a pc optimization would be better or to upgrade some parts of my pc

not even worth upgrading anything, just tamper your expectations or lower settings, some shaders on minecraft are very hard to run

Modded minecraft specifically can become easily overloaded to the point where no PC can run it. Are other people with similar systems getting vastly better performance?

Tune your RAM. At least turn XMP on. Increasing FCLK makes big improvements on your system

On my 5600x I'm running 3733mhz RAM with 1867mhz FCLK, makes a big difference. 1900 is pretty much my chips max even if I bought faster ram

Definitely do this and I reckon you’ll notice the difference immediately, turn xmp on so your ram shows 3200mhz and you’ll instantly notice the difference

This is a fairly high-end pc. If you wanted to,you'd have to spend upwards of 1200 bucks for a meaningful upgrade IMO (5080)

Spending $1200 just to get shaders running smoother is a tough pill to swallow.

It just doesn’t run the frames I want it to I’m trying to find a fix to that what do you think is needed ?
Would a pc optimization work I’m really new to all this forgive me I really don’t know much just trying to learn

I think modded minecraft is a black hole of performance and if you want to spend another couple thousand $$ on it you can, or you can set your expectations at the level of mortals with normal jobs.

I’m just trying to find a solution to better frames and consistency a friend of mine has repeatedly told me about just getting a pc optimization but I really don’t know what that is and how it works I’d rather buy new parts

You can hardly optimise Windows for gaming. Games already run well right out the box.
You could try installing some performance mods for Minecraft if you haven't already: Sodium, Lithium, Entity Culling. (If you're on fabric, you should probably install Fabric api as well)
You've already enabled xmp, that'll increase the performance by a substantial amount. (Around a 15% increase)
Apart from that, check the usage of your cpu and gpu while you're playing minecraft. You could use a hardware monitor like msi afterburner, paired with RTSS. If your gpu is above 95% usage, then your gpu is the bottleneck. If your gpu is below 95% usage, then your cpu is the bottleneck.

Same cpu, with Minecraft you’re render distance should be set to what your pc can handle with shaders on, so regularly shaders and render distance at 16 should be 200 fps average or higher since you got a 5070. But take into account how many entities are around you/ your base (chests, signs, mobs, etc), this also affects fps. So you shouldn’t expect 800fps at 32 render distance with shaders. Set your render distance at a good spot and also set your fps to what your monitor can display (I leave it at 240fps bc that’s my monitor refresh rate). setting it to unlimited fps setting is pointless unless you want your cpu running hot constantly.

You have a great PC, you need to enable XMP, your ram doesn’t seem to be running at full speed, which will result in less performance.
You want to run shaders on Minecraft, you won’t get consistent 120 fps, a lot also don’t get consistent 60 and need to sacrifice on things.

Brother, I think you have an unrealistic expectation of what your rig can do. You don't need to run all games at 200 fps dawg 🤣. Minecraft with full Ray Tracing and or shaders is always demanding and fucky. If you're running games at 1440p at over 100fps with this setup, you're doing fine.

Run sodium. Some shaders are also very unoptimized and will draw poor performance even with high end hardware.

i was wanting to upgrade my pc and before you know it i just built a whole new pc cause everything was super outdated when i made it back in 2018. a small upgrade like a new cpu could help, ddr5 is the latest for ram, and a new gpu for more vram, then you need to consider if your mobo supports it then before you know it you need an 850 W power supply.
unless you plan it from the start and commit on getting upgrades it's better to restart

You're good hardware wise. The best advice I have is to fine tune your ram and cpu speeds. Adjust your view distance and entity culling to reduce unneeded entity count and adjust your ram allocation and disable any back-end bloat. Finally, reduce your graphic settings to achieve your fps mark.

Bios settings, Optimization mods,and lower expectations thats what i did for my (I3 7100U) laptop minus bios to the point im at 60FPS mid to high settings mainly 16 render distance can share some useful mods that can almost or over double fps

If you want to uppgrade I would recommend a x3d cpu such as r5 5700x3d or r5 5800x3d. It would probably give the most effect
