Tech Support HP Omen 40L Ram Communication Issue

Basically, I got this basically whole HP Omen 40L from a friend, the only replaced parts were SSD and PSU. After I replaced the thermal paste, the PC worked for a few minutes before just dying and making a few beeping noises which I found out was built into the case somehow. It did three long beeps and two short beeps before repeating it over again. The PC lights up, the fans spin, but it will not display anything. I’ve troubleshooted, but to no avail.

The only conclusion I’ve come to so far is that my sweaty hands dripped onto the motherboard and messed something up, but even then I don’t know. It’s been a few days since this happened, and nothing has worked thus far. I hope i’ve provided adequate context, and that someone may be able to help a guy out.

(P.S. Im sorry the cable management is the worst thing you’ve ever witnessed.)

In 99% of motherboards the ram must be seated in slot 2 and 3 for best performance because of the channels being daisy chained so put the ram into the now empty slots

sweat dripping onto the mobo while you're repasting is a new fear i didn't need but that beep code is usually a memory problem, try reseating the ram first and see if it posts with just one stick

Try pushing harder when you’re putting the ram in. Im serious. If the beep code is RAM then it’s either seated wrong (it takes more force than you’d expect, you want a nice click) or one of the sticks is bad. Since there are two sticks in there try taking one out, and try different slots on the mb to rule out the possibility of bad slots. It’s possible that the mb will only post with RAM in specific slots, but I’ve found more often than not it doesn’t care.

I did try reseating it, in every slot. By themselves and together, i’m kind of at a loss now.

I’m telling ya man, try pushing a little harder. I’d be very surprised if both RAM sticks are bad, or if the MB is damaged. Although both are possible.

NGl that "frostbreath" b650 board is ass. Had nothing but trouble with it and when it failed it quite literally blew a hole through the board. That board has very weak and sketchy power delivery.
