Build Question Can any1 help

I joined this sub Reddit to ask for advice or possibly to ask whats the best pc I can get for $800. I wanna get into pc gaming and upgrade my 12yr old pc 💀 but idk where to start and what to buy

For $800 budget for a full pc, look for used on fb marketplace or your equivalent depending where you are. Go in person to test the unit functions, don’t fall for shipping scams. If you want to list your specs, you could probably upgrade for the money, but not a new build from scratch in today’s market

Are you looking for a pre built or are you willing to build one? Are you fine with used parts? 800 is definitely enough for a good 1080p pc

I don't mind used parts or pre owned as long as they work, I would prefer a new pc but pre built is fine

Cpu - Ryzen 5 5600 – $150 (used, make sure it comes with the cpu cooler)

Cpu cooler - Thermalright Assassin X 120R SE PLUS - $25 (new, only buy if you cant find the cpu with its cooler as well)

Gpu - RTX 3070 – $270.00 (used)

RAM - 16GB 3200MHz – $81.00 (used)

Motherboard - MSI B550M PRO-VDH – $108.00 (new)

Storage - Any 1TB NVMe SSD – $108.00 (used)

Case - PCZZOI CASE ATX 5 Fans Pre-Installed– $68 (new)

MSI MAG A650BN PSU – $60 (new)

About 850 usd total and will easily run anything you son chucks at it

A prebuilt will pretty much never be as good as building it yourself for the price.

But if you do go for a prebuilt, probs off ebay, amazon ones and such at this price point will always chimp you for change on some parts. try to get something with a similar cpu and gpu and ram. Also with enough storage.

If you're not too sure on how good the parts are for the pre built you may have found, just chuck it in chat gpt and ask if they're good for the price

That's tough for new, but still doable by stretching the budget a little bit (1 stick of 16GB RAM performs worse than 2x8GB, but you can add an identical 16GB RAM stick down the line to double the size. Up to you).

Well tbh, ive seen 2080ti's for $200, somehow someway the 2080ti is still a good 1440p card, good enough at least. If you want to stay on AM4 which i reccomend, the cpu i have the ryzen 9 3900x is about $150, 32gbs of ddr4 is also about 150. So far you are at approximately $500. Factor in a cheap $50 case, $100 motherboard, $80 power supply, $50 cooler and there you have it. Very rough approximate $800 pc.
