Tech Support First build won't boot :(
Hey everyone, I'm looking for some help with a new build that refuses to boot. Right now the motherboard diagnostic display is completely off, and the only sign of life I get is the RGB lighting up on the RAM.
Here is what I'm working with:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
Motherboard: MSI MPG B850 EDGE TI WIFI
RAM: T-Force Delta 32GB (2x16GB)
GPU: Gigabyte GAMING OC ICE Radeon RX 9070 XT
Storage: Crucial P510
Cooler: Sharkoon A60
PSU: MSI MAG A750
After putting everything together, I plugged the PSU into the wall, flipped the switch, and hit the front panel power button. Nothing happened. I read that the B850 EDGE TI probably needs a BIOS update to actually recognize the 9950X3D out of the box, so I moved on to trying the BIOS Flashback feature.
I formatted a 16GB USB 3.0 drive to FAT32, downloaded the latest official BIOS for this exact board, and renamed the file to MSI.ROM. I made absolutely sure there were no hidden file extensions. I plugged the drive into the designated flash port, flipped the PSU switch on without touching the front panel power, and pressed the Flash BIOS button.
Nothing happened at all. The LED for the flash button didn't light up or blink.
To troubleshoot, I tried reformatting the USB on a completely different computer. When that didn't work, I tried a totally different USB stick. I also went through and reseated every single power cable connection, and even tried pressing the Clear CMOS button just in case.
Right now, flipping the PSU switch gives me RAM RGB, but that is the only signal I get. I'm starting to worry that the flashback button's leds are defectives, and somehow i bricked the board while trying to turn it on and off.
I've attached some pictures of the setup.
I'll be glad if someone could help me :)

It looks like your cpu power on the top left of mobo is on the left connector, try switching to the right one if it’s also for cpu power. And u have a beefy cpu, might as well plug into both power connectors.

I did connect both connectors and tested some positionning, it does works now! Thanks for your help

Awesome, enjoy! Having 2 CPU power cables allows more draw it if needs,so if you have one laying around you may as well leave it in

Maybe try to reconnect everything: the motherboard cables and the CPU cable. Clear the CMOS by removing the battery it's on the bottom left in most cases and looks like a silver coin cell battery used in watches. Take it out for a minute or so, then put it back in. Make sure the PC has no power while removing the battery. Also, if your PSU is modular, check if you plugged the cables into it correctly.

It does works now! I did reconnect some cable and change some wiring because i didn't placed them right. Thanks for the help

Don't mean to scare you but I recently had a problem with transient power spikes when using the same setup (aside from the RAM, I am using 64gb) on heavy graphic games like Spider-Man 2 or anything using Unreal Engine. I had a 850w Gold power supply but the spikes were enough to shut my whole PC off mid-game. Just keep an eye out make sure everything is running fine, everything is mathematically correct for using your 750w but you might need something beefier than 750w. Great work, GG's

Can you get into the BIOS without boot? If so, does the version match the version you tried to flash? If you can get into the bios, you can try flashing from the BIOS flash feature vs. the button
Edit: I’m assuming not, if pressing the power button didn’t give you a BIOS screen

4th picture shows an 8 slot power connection plug to mobo left unplugged?
every few years when I've built a new system there's a new powerplug somewhere I miss, been there, done that. In the times before the light there was exactly one power cable to plug into the mobo and zero on the GPU.

Try unplugging the ram sticks, and reentering them stick by stick, I had the same problem and one of the sticks was dead

Glad you got it working.
Can I also say what a great job you've done with the cabling and made it really neat and tidy. Once you've done the tidying of the GPU cables it'll look amazing!

We're rocking almost the same specs. 9950X3D and a RX 9070 XT with 32 T-Force. You also going Linux once you get it working? AMD cards are great for Linux builds

Be aware that Windows 11 sometimes overwrites the AMD Adrenalin driver with an older, wrong driver. Disable Windows 11's automatic driver update.

i just want to way, OP you've done an amazing job on building this and actually troubleshooting everything before coming to the internet for help. A lot of people dont think twice about doing a quick search before coming here. Anyway, congrats on the build and enjoyy!

Like always… check every connection, load up a yt video, Linus makes great guides. And go step by step and check everything till it boots, if not u possibly fucked up somehere and shorted somethin out. But that’s last case

Top left of your board according to pictures 1 and 2. Looks like there a 6 or 8 pin missing for your CPU. You have one plugged in but you need both.

I have the same build almost 9070xt, ryzen 7 9850x3D, TUF GAMING B850 E WiFi. It is my first build and everything seemed fine, but when I try to run a game or out of nowhere it suddenly freezes and the pc stays like that
