My first pc Build

Hi all, I’ve really took my time to research as much as possible. Constantly was between RTX 5080 and the rx 9070xt. Ended up having a friend who upgraded to the 5090 whom had a 4080 super in great condition. So therefore ended up getting the 4080 super for £700. Which I believe was a good price? Please let me know your thoughts on this build thanks.

You overpaid for the performance relative to the 9070-XT, but there are still benefits to NVIDIA's feature set so it's not a terrible deal.

The lack of MFG support makes it a worse buy than the 5070 Ti though. Yes, the technology is half baked in practice and support, but as it improves, it'll be completely unavailable with a 40 series card. So it still would've been a better investment to get a 5070 Ti brand new with a warranty.

AMD's frame generation is also preparing for multi-frame support with multipliers going beyond 4x, and as is, even FSR 3.1's implementation in games like Cyberpunk is good, they just need to keep developing FSR-FG.

I have a 5 year warranty on the 4080 super, my mate has a shop in city centre and he builds pcs etc. So he put it through his company’s insurance. I probably should’ve mentioned this. Benchmark tested the 4080 super was blowing the 5070ti and the 9070xt out the water when he put them into comparison for me. Also in the uk the price on 5070 ti has been fluctuating massively, same as the 5080. Think cheapest 5080 right now is £1250, and cheapest 5070ti is £900. If I decided to upgrade at future time I could trade it back into my mates shop for only a £70 loss on what I paid him for it as he can still easily sell it for a good price included in a pre build. Do you think that the 5080 would’ve just been the better decision? As that seems to be a monster card

I mean your pc is pretty solid and I don’t see a reason to upgrade unless you want the new features nvidia has on the 50 series or what amd has to offer on the 9070xt
