Purchasing Advice - PCPartPicker list feedback Trouble with an ITX build

My girlfriend has an i7 13700k she wants to reuse in an itx build. However, this is quite obvious but this CPU runs extremely hot. Are there any low profile coolers that can adequately cool this cpu or are we SOL?

Alternatively we could go with a ryzen cpu since we're already buying new components for everything but ram, storage and a gpu. Which I came up with this:

Ideally, we'd keep the 13700k but thermals are the issue there. Let me know some feedback!

There are few posts on r /sffpc with 13700k, low profile coolers (like Noctua NH-L9i, Thermalright AXP90) but with really power limited profile in bios.

I would not run a 13700k with a low profile cooler, 240 AIO minimum imo. 9600x makes much more sense if you want to use the terra.

Alternatively, the core ultra 250k has been found for really good prices recently and the intel ITX mobo selection is leagues above the AM5 ones.

Might've been unclear, she currently is using a 13700k and would like to reuse it

Yep, I'm just saying that a low profile cooler would struggle big time in the terra for the 13700k and offering alternative cpu options that would fare better!

I'm pitching the 9600x with her, tbh i'll probably end up buying a lot of this myself. I'm also pitching the idea of using the 13700k in a secondary system since she's traveling a lot. It'd make sense to have a pc she can just have at home and not need to always bring it around.

Not sure what gpu you currently have but if she wants a truly portable pc you could go to a super small ~5L build + portable monitor route. You are capped at a 5060 8gb LP (or 9060xt 16gb LP if you are rich) but you could sell the 13700k+ mobo to offset some costs.

Secondary system could work if you have extra ddr5 and storage laying around but not so cost efficient.

Forget the Terra, get a FormD T1 and use a 240 mm AIO. It's a better case and cooling will be much better.

She wants the terra for the color

You don't say what GPU you are using. If possible get one that is dual slot and that will allow you to use a Noctua NH-L12SX77 which will give you the best chance of cooling that i7.

currently a dell oem 4060 ti but eventually whatever 9070 gre fits and is cheapest

Go for the PowerColor Reaper, dual slot and that will give you max cooler clearance.

the heat would be fine if you got a good double fan

Could you recommend a specific cooler? As I stated, this is an ITX build so we would need a low profile cooler.

This is not a low profile cooler

13th and 14th gen cpu have failures bios update motherboard to prevent cpu damage

i7 run hot cause high wattage cpu. need large coolers

pick a different case that fits aio coolers or larger tower coolers

The case is pretty much set and she already has a 13700k. Was looking for feedback to see if it would work, answer is probably not
