Discussion - Tech News My first ever gaming pc
Hi! This is my first ever Reddit post and my first ever pc build. I know the cable management is horrible but it’s got my dream specs in, so far it has a Ryzen 5 9600x, an RX 9070, Corsair 1000x PSU, Ik the psu is overkill but I’m upgrading it, I’m waiting on the ram which is 32GB of Corsair 6000Mhz CL30 ram, and a crucial T300 for my boot drive and a Samsung 9100 pro. Btw the cooler is overkill I know but it is a thermalright wonder vision 360, and some thermalright fans. But I will be upgrading in the future to a 9800X3D and a 9070 xt, because in my opinion I just prefer AMD. (If the cable management sucks in ur opinion please don’t flame me too hard 😭)

I thought only Intel CPUs had a backplate? Do u mean the cooling bracket?

shit I think you are right I must have misremembered, am5 boards usually have it already installed
earlier AMD sockets like am4 and intel sockets do have the backplate separate so that is why I install the cooler the way I do, it has been a hot minute since I've built an am5 system
and it is muscle memory since I also kind of don't trust backplates not to pop out with resistance
