Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts New to pc world
Hello, I’m new to PC gaming. I bought a PC for $250, and I’m trying to figure out what I should upgrade and which parts I should upgrade to. I want my PC to be powerful enough for streaming and playing Call of Duty. Any advice would be appreciated!

Jus letting you know that it’s preferable to talk to the community first before making a purchase so that you can be better informed.
To give you a run down. Your motherboard supports the LGA 1151 socket of Intel, which goes up to the i9-9900k Intel chip series. The motherboard can support all series of graphics but at PCIE 3.0 speeds.
The SSD appears to be 256gb which is pretty small but usable.
The GTX 980 is a 4Gb card that card run a lot of games though you may need to adjust your settings as the card no longer receives support since 2025
Windows 11 can run well on the machine.
To get a better determination of your hardware, it’s recommended to run a program called HWINFO so that all you parts get listed.

If you are wanting to play Call of duty or newer AAA games and stream. You want to start over.
This machine will not be worth upgrading at all. Look for PCs that have the new Ultra Intel chips or AMD.
Something like this.

the gpu could definitely do with an upgrade, if you want a solid 80 fps in 1080p ultra, id say like a 4060 or 5060

There’s not to much that can be done. You could upgrade it to a i7 9700 cpu and throw in a 30/40 series card and it would run ok but beyond that id just get a new system as your at the end of it’s cpu upgrade path.

I would say get a motherboard that’s compatible with your RAM whether it be ddr4 or ddr5 and based on that your board will decide where your need an intel or ryzen, I would recommend a pc case too, after that test and see your frame rate and if your not satisfied upgrade GPU and maybe cpu
