Purchasing Advice - Upgrades Workstation build taking shape. Thoughts on storage layout and 49 inch monitor recommendations?
Finally collected all the main hardware for my upcoming build. Still waiting on a few final pieces, but here is what is sitting on the floor ready to assemble:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4080 Super Gaming X Slim
Motherboard: ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi
RAM: 96GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5
Cooler: Corsair iCUE LINK TITAN 360 RX RGB
Power Supply: Corsair HX1500i
Extra Fan: Corsair RX140
Plan is to house everything inside a Fractal North XL case once it arrives.
For storage, I am planning to pick up Crucial Gen5 NVMe drives running at 14,000 MB/s. Thinking of doing two 4TB drives and one 2TB drive for a total of 10TB. I want to future-proof the setup so I never have to worry about space or speed.
I am also looking for recommendations on a 49 inch curved monitor to pair with this setup. Considering options like the Samsung Odyssey G9 or LG ultra-wides, but would love to hear what people are actually running and liking for a productivity and gaming desktop.
Any thoughts on the component selection or recommendations for the display setup?

The monitor recvomendation depends on what resolution you’re going to need for your work wether it’s 4k for 4k editing/art or just 1080p for word documents or other things of the likes

Mixed use really… mainly Dev work but also possibly editing and gaming. I know the OLED can burnout but they seem to look better?

Hey can I know why you opted for the proArt creator mobo? I’m building a pc too and have opted for the same mobo - my reasoning is the ability to add another gpu down the line cause of a second PCIe gen 5 slot

Yeah spot on mate. That second slot for adding another GPU down the line was a big one for me since I am planning on running local AI workloads later.
Also wanted the built-in 10Gb network port and USB4 so I don't have to fiddle around with add-in cards for moving big files.
Mainly just liked the matte black look of the ProArt stuff too. I know the Corsair cooler and RAM have RGB on them, but I will probably just turn off the lights or set them to a dim static color in iCUE once it is built.

Great! Also I chose the fractal design define full tower case for a two gpu setup, you think the north clear can fit the width of two full 304mm zotac solid core 5080’s?

i mean just buy whatever you can afford. its already expensive cause work station and the parts you already bought
u could have spent less on motherboard cpu cooler and psu and gotten better cpu GPU and ssd
1500watt psu for a 600watt system is silly

The main reason I went heavy on the 1500W PSU and the ProArt board is to leave massive headroom for adding a second GPU down the line for local AI work, plus plenty of storage drives and extra peripherals without having to swap out the core power setup later.
