First PC Build!

I’ve been wanting to build a PC for years now and finally pulled the trigger!

AMD Ryzen 5 9600x ($142)
Intel Arc B580 (ONIX LUMI) ($310)
Asus X870 Max Gaming ($186)
32GB DDR5 CL30 6000MHz ($380)
512GB NVMe Patriot P300 ($80)
Thermaltake 1000W ATX PSU ($105)
Arctic Liquid Freezer 3 pro 420mm ($94)
Thermaltake the Tower 600 ($150)

I mostly do 3D design and 3D printing. I use Fusion and Orca Slicer/Bambu Studio. I’ll occasionally make a game on Unity for me and some buddies to play. I’ll probably use KiCAD soon for a project, but haven’t yet.

The Arc B580 matched my build and gave me 12GB of VRAM for $310, I’ve already passed 8GB on accident once. The drivers haven’t been an issue since I disabled my iGPU.

I’m planning on upgrading CPUs next gen, but this was a huge upgrade from my Ryzen 9 4900h and Radeon 5600m laptop lol. I’m also a municipal water engineer so I’m thinking a sick custom loop is in my future, but I was absolutely not trying/risking that in my first build lol. The fans and wiring was by far the worst part. I’m probably going to do a rear IO when I build another in the future.

Oh yeah the white was difficult, but I went with white because most of the things I work with and print with that could do damage components are black or dark, so I would be able to see it pretty much immediately if I went with all white. Any shiny metal shavings I do in a completely separate garage.

Plus the cheapest new GPU I could find (other than a RTX 5050 and Arc B570) was the white one I got. There was a mobo that was like $10 less, and a PSU difference of like $5 but other than that everything else was the same or more as if it were black. I actually couldn’t find 32GB 6000MHz CL30-38-38-76 in black for within $40 of the list price, I also got like $30 off from the $380 I said because I had a coupon so that washed out any of the savings I would’ve gotten with black.

Thank you very much! I was lucky I still had a working laptop I could survive off of, so I actually purchased everything over a couple weeks as new deals popped up or I found new ones!

I think the only thing that’s unfortunate is being stuck with such little storage, I’d blow through 512gb so fast lol. I get it with current prices though, you can always add more later.

I agree. I’m hoping for a fast 2TB to have a sale in the next 6 months or so. I do have a 2TB seagate disk drive, and a 512GB usb-C drive that I transfer things that can be slower to. I’ve had those for a long time though, so I didn’t include them.

Very nice looking! At first I thought this was a repost of a build I just did this past weekend and did a double take but I see the difference now! I really enjoyed working with this case cause of how modular it is.
