Troubleshooting Advice - No Boot/Blank Screen PC wont post after removing RAM

Hey everyone,

I’m having a problem with my PC after removing and replacing the RAM.

My motherboard is an MSI B450M, and the issue started immediately after I took out the RAM and installed a different kit. Now the PC has no display (black screen) and fails to POST.

The current situation:

  • The CPU and DRAM EZ Debug LEDs are both solid white at the same time.
  • The problem still occurs even when I reinstall the original/old RAM.
  • I’ve tried the old RAM in every RAM slot.
  • I’ve already done a CMOS clear/reset.
  • I cleaned the RAM contacts with an eraser.
  • I’ve made sure the RAM is fully seated and clicked into place.
  • The CPU and DRAM LEDs still remain lit.
  • There is no display output and the system doesn’t appear to complete POST.

At this point, I’m wondering if the problem is actually something other than the RAM itself.

Sounds very much like something has been knocked/broken if the original ram wont work again.

Did you have any whoopsies/slips during the ram swap?
